Finally, the last day of NaBloPoMo. I’m glad I did it, but I am also glad it’s over. Posting every day for a month has been tough, especially while caring for Prince Drool-A-Lot of HighMaintenance Land.
NaBloPoMo may not have been a piece of cake, but I made a fabulous cake today… it’s super chocolatey and zero calories. Ha. I wish. I took a picture of it, but of course forgot to pull the pics off my camera, so I’ll have to post that photo next time.
I’m off to relax and get a little sleep. I won’t be blogging for a few days, but I’ll try to come back on Monday! Enjoy your weekends!

We officially have a “creeper” in the house! And I bet crawling is just days away.
I’m in deep shit, aren’t I?

Aiden’s Christmas/6 month portraits are scheduled for this Saturday, so I went out shopping today for an outfit for him to wear. My mom and sister went along to help me pick out something cute. Along the way, we realized an important fact: our boys are really getting the shaft!
In every single store we checked out, there were racks upon racks of cute little Christmas dresses and outfits for girls. Every size, style, color you could wish for. Then, off in a corner, there might be one small rack of dressy boys’ clothing, which of course was thoroughly picked over. A couple of measly Christmas sweaters or little blazers. And when you manage to pick a favorite from the three styles offered, there isn’t anything in the size you need.
Have you noticed that there are so many cute clothes for girls, and major quantities of them, too? But for boys, everything is either some variation of jeans or superhero-themed. Sorry, I don’t feel like putting my son in Spiderman pajamas for his Christmas photo.
We did manage to find a cute little shirt/vest/pants combo that will be quite adorable. But then we made the mistake of looking for some shoes or slippers to go with the black pants we purchased. HA! You can find adorable dressy shoes for little girls as young as newborns, for goodness sakes. Ballet slippers, patent leather, mary janes, whatever you want. But I couldn’t find a single pair of black slippers or shoes for a six month old boy, and we went everywhere. We couldn’t even find black socks anywhere, until we went to Tar.get. I finally settled on the socks, since I’m not interested in hauling my ass all over the place just for a stupid pair of shoes. But, damn! Boys really aren’t given the same treatment when it comes to cute clothing options, are they?
Okay, rant over.
And also, I had better have a girl someday so I can indulge in some of those dresses. Cuuuuuute. But my boy is gonna be so adorable in his ensemble on Saturday.

I was just checking my blog stats, and oh my gawd, the search engine terms that bring people to this site are hilarious. They also might suggest I have some serious issues, but I assure you that I do not. Check out the latest and greatest searches that are linking to mah website:
“dumb girl” How very fitting that this is the most common search term that brings visitors here. Hmmm.
“stop the bitch” I have no advice on how to do this. Please google “smack that ho” for better results.
“butt pubes knot and hurt” Well. May I assure you that I can’t assist with this problem. I have never heard the term “butt pubes” (WTF??) and I don’t have knots all up my crack.
“little peness big hole” I suggest Kegels, “peness” enhancement, and spelling lessons. Good luck to ya.
“homemade brazilian wax” No! Dooooon’t doooo it!
“spread your butt cheeks” What kind of girl do you think I am? Not until you’ve taken me out on a proper date, thankyouverymuch!
God, I so love the internet.

So, the whole crib-in-our-room thing is going pretty well. I’m still tired, and the baby’s still waking up all.the.time, but I feel like we are at least working toward a solution. Seriously, does anyone out there have a baby who seems to wake up every two hours? Because I? I do. He’s not usually hungry when he wakes up, and he’s not awake and happy and playful. He seems angry and tired, but just unable to soothe himself back to sleep.
I think I mentioned before that he refused to sleep unless I nursed him. Already, I’ve seen a big improvement with that issue. Last night for example, he nursed, had his bath, and then we tried to settle down for bed. Jason and I sat in our bed right next to him, and he played in his crib. It took a while (more than an hour) but he finally put his head down and slept without a single cry! Hopefully, he’s getting more comfortable in the crib and learning how to fall asleep on his own.
He woke up around 11:30, so I nursed him and put him back down. He cried a little but I patted his back and he fell asleep. Unfortunately, he was up again at 1:30. Then again at 3:30. I’m proud that I didn’t pick him up between 11:30 and about 4am. I just talked to him and patted him and he did very well. I realized, though, that he was hungry around 4 so I nursed him and put him back down. And get this! He then slept for more than four hours without waking up and crying! Woo hoo! He hasn’t done that in months!
This process isn’t easy, but I think we are making a little progress. He’s learning to sleep without my boob in his mouth, and we haven’t had any awful screaming sessions. I’m just sticking with this and keeping my fingers crossed that he’ll keep improving and sleeping a little longer each night.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Enjoying some yummy turkey in his mesh feeder. No pureed crap for this kid! He gets to chew on the real thing!

Yes. That’s a crib in my bedroom. A crib that should be in the nursery. However, thanks to a certain child who seems to hate being alone at night and hates the crib, we had to resort to this. I love this baby, but I need him to get the hang of sleeping through the night. Until he does, this is what I suppose our bedroom is gonna look like.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s officially time for the Christmas season! I love this time of year. I have so much I want/need to do in the next few weeks, including:
- Decorate the house
- Buy tree/decorate
- Christmas cookies
- Aiden’s Holiday photo
- Photo cards for mailing
- Outfit for Aiden’s picture
- Gift shopping
- Gift wrapping
- Attend holiday parties
- Plan a few holiday outings for our family (see lights, see a Christmas show, holiday crafts festival, etc)
- Take Aiden to get picture with Santa
And I am sure I will come up with even more stuff to add to the list! Do you have a ton of stuff planned for the next few weeks, or are you super-organized and already well on your way to getting everything done?

Thursday is almost over, but I am here and posting!
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Get this:
Last night Aiden went to sleep in his crib and woke up crying 45 minutes later. I mean screaming… even when I picked him up he didn’t calm down right away. And every time I’d try to put him back down he was freaking out.
So… my solution? I crawled my adult self right over the side of the crib and into it with him. I leaned over him and whispered “shhh” in his ear, and (no kidding) he was asleep in less than 10 seconds.
Maybe he’s just a little scared and lonely when he’s in his bed all by himself. All it took was a little company from mama to get him to chill out and go back to sleep. Awwwww.
