send doritos. please.

Hello.
I am so fucking hungry. And it’s not that I am not eating… 22 daily Weight Watchers points isn’t a small amount of food. It’s just that I am craving stuff that is bad for me delicious. Like warm, fudgy brownies. Or a whole effing box of pasta, with some fresh grated cheese and olive oil. Oh, or doritos. Fuck yes. Doritos would just about give me an orgasm in my mouth right now. (Oh, I can’t wait to see the Google searches that sentence will bring in).
It might sound like I am doing badly, but actually I am hanging in there. I’ve worked out every single day except for Saturday. I’ve followed my meal plan and mostly done well with it. I’m obsessively picking out recipes to try and searching for zero point snacks. My favorite? Sugar free jello with fat free whipped topping. Zero points and a pseudo-sugar-fix. I just polished off a bowl of it before starting this entry. Yum.
I just hope that I see some results for my efforts, both in the exercise and diet departments. I hope I am not one of those women whose bodies hold on to every ounce of fat because of nursing, because the cave woman in my genes is preparing for some sort of famine. I guess I can only keep going and see how things progress.
I took a couple of “before” photos, in a bikini no less. But I’m reserving the right to withhold them for now. Believe me, you should be saying thank you. I may post them 8 (shit! 7-ish!) weeks from now with the promised “after” shot, for comparison’s sake. We’ll see how brave I’m feeling.
See you on Thursday for the weigh-in!
And check out my new Thin Thursday page for updates and the blogs of those who are joining me in my starvation weight loss quest!

if you’re working out you should be earning points (and eating most of them) Do you have the info on how to calculate exercise earned points?
And if you’ve read about trying to get in healthy oils, throwing in flax seed in a yogurt or something like that, totally helps. I don’t know why, but it does!
My favorite 4 point breakfast or snack. 1 cup WW vanilla yogurt, with 1/2 cup blueberries or strawberries (frozen works), 1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch, 1 tbsp flax seed…
You’re doing great! I’m sure of it!

You’re doing great! Another good thing to think about is that as he becomes more and more activie, you’ll get a lot more exercise than you even mean to! Running around after toddlers can really provide a great workout!

I am like you Kel…. I like to eat…. a lot. I have no problem with the exercising. Especially now that it’s nice outside I can drag my husband outside to play tennis. I usually go 5-6 days a week with the exercise. Food though… is my weakness. My weight is coming off super slow. I started weight watchers at the end of February and I’ve only lost 5 lbs. It makes me sad when I go into the meetings and newbies lose 9 lbs their second week!

You’ll see results in no time! Sounds like you are doing great. BTW, The Baked Doritos are a great substitution

The beginning is always the worst, right? I am ready for the moment when I start craving the healthy stuff! It does happen.
If it helps, my friend calls Doritos “diarrhea-tos” They’ve never held the same appeal for me since!

I feel your pain. I love cheetos. But I have discovered BAKED cheetos, which make my mouth….go nuts.
And WW individual cups of chocolate chip/mint ice cream.
Two staples I must have in the house at all times.
Besides grapes. I can go through a pound or more in a week. Slightly frozen grapes give me the sweet pick me up I need.

Hang in there, sister. Special K Protein bars in Peanut Butter/Chocolate are a good mid-afternoon snack - and they really do make me feel full longer. Grapes, god bless grapes. And oranges. Mmmm.
I would kill for a pile of mashed potatoes and gravy, but instead I think “people are going to see me in a swimsuit in 6 weeks” so I don’t. It’s movitating me really well right now!!

Welcome to the world of WW! (and to the BOAD email group)
I am in week 4 and have also joined a gym. I was down 10 lbs at my last weigh in.
I will help in any way I can with tips and recipes and encouragement.

Like Ben Lee sings, “we’re all in this together”.
If I can do it, you can do it!!

ooh hang in there girl! The first couple of weeks are NOT FUN with WW, it took me a little while to get adjusted to eating less. I was sooo hungry all the time. But it goes away, trust me! Your stomach will shrink a little bit and get used to the new amount of food you’re eating. And if you’re having a really strong craving, try just eating one of whatever it is- a brownie, for example. I found that depriving myself completely made it all seem that much worse.

Have you seen this website, http://www.hungrygirl.com? It has tons of great recipes for things that you would normally love, but shows you how to make them healthier. It also has nutrition information and I believe WW points for all of the recipes. I love it. The recipes are under “Chew the Right Thing.”

I finally took the plunge and joined Weight Watchers Online last night. Woo hoo! Even though we started out with the same height and weight, I start out with two fewer points than you because I’m not nursing. Since I signed up just a couple of hours before midnight, I’m making Thursday my weigh-in day, so my first one will be next week. I’m nervous, but so excited!
