About
You know what words rhyme with Kelly? Hmm… smelly, belly, jelly. None of them really appeal to me, except perhaps jelly. That made me think of jellybeans! And hey, in a moment of desperation for a blog title genius, Kellybeans! was born. Get it? Jellybeans? With a K instead of a J? And an exclamation point to add some excitement!
(Note to self: you probably didn’t need to explain that. Your readers aren’t idiots. But, then again, they’re reading you, so ya never know.)
So, hi, I’m Kelly. I have a lot of things I used to be, which include:
- Skinny and toned.
- Miss Maryland, as in “competed for Miss America” (see number 1)
- A news anchor for a CBS affiliate
The Miss Maryland thing ended after a year and I passed on the crown. My job and my body went by the wayside with the birth of my first child in June 2007. Now I’m a stay-at-home Mom to Aiden, whom I adore. My husband Jason and I have been married since Sept. 2003.
I love food, dogs, good hair days, Diet Dr. Pepper, PASTA, good spellers, and sitting on my ass in front of the TV.
I hate lamb (the food, not the animal), liars, dog hair on my floors, and slow drivers.
If you are wondering, I’m pretty ambivalent about jellybeans. They’re okay, but I actually prefer chocolate for a candy-fix. Unfortunately, I couldn’t figure out a clever way to incorporate my name into “chocolate” for a blog title. Hey, at least I am honest!
Happy reading!

Hi Kelly! I started reading you right before Aiden was born (I think I found you through Zoot?), and I’ve loved following along. My son, Jack, was born right after Aiden (on June 14th) and it’s so nice to read about someone else going through the same things (good and bad) at the same time. Anyways, I’ve enjoyed reading - thanks for sharing!

So, you’re blog is already titled, but I’m surprised you didn’t see this possible title…ChocKELLate. C’mon Kel, you can’t be missing these things!
